HOUSTON (CBS Houston) Harris County homicide detectives have named a person of interest in the murder of an 83-year-old Highlands man.

The victim identified as Otis James, had not been heard from, so a neighbor went to check on him at his home located on South 4th Street near Avenue C in Highlands on Monday; it was then that the neighbor discovered James dead in a chair.

After the discovery, the neighbor then called 911. “The victim was bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. Medical personnel were summoned to the scene and upon arrival pronounced the victim dead,” stated HCSO authorities. “Investigators interviewed several witnesses and found that the victim’s White F-150 Ford Pick-up truck Texas Plate 5GPWM was missing.”

During their investigation it was learned that 19-year-old Randy Segura became a person of interest in the investigation, which is currently on-going.
